EU Grids Package – Securing a Competitive and Resilient Electricity Backbone for Europe

On 26 November 2025, from 11:00 to 12:00 CEST, Eurometaux will host a webinar on “EU Grids Package – Securing a Competitive and Resilient Electricity Backbone for Europe.

Europe’s transition to a decarbonised and competitive energy market depends on a resilient and modern electricity grid. Massive upgrades—estimated at €584 billion under the EU Action Plan for Grids (2023)—are needed to integrate renewables, enhance cross-border trade, and maintain stability amid climate risks and regulatory fragmentation. The upcoming Grids Package, to be published on 25 November, offers a crucial opportunity to address these challenges while safeguarding industrial competitiveness.

Our webinar will discuss the Grids Package, and the grid investment needs, while also trying to identify solutions for financing the massive grid modernization without passing crippling costs onto grid users.
We’ll be looking at strategies for managing network tariffs and connection charges to preserve international competitiveness, accelerating permitting processes to speed up critical infrastructure deployment, and leveraging new technologies like digitalization and flexibility to increase the grid efficiency and resilience.
